KITCHEN & BATHROOM RENOVATION
Gorsey Brow
A complete kitchen and bathroom transformation in a 1900 stone cottage, combining modern living with the character of an older property.
THE BRIEF
Our customers wanted to bring their beautiful 1900 stone cottage into the 21st century with a complete kitchen and bathroom renovation.
They loved the character of their home but wanted modern, practical spaces that worked for everyday living. Their plans also involved structural alterations to open up the kitchen and dining area, while keeping the charm of the original property.
THE TRANSFORMATION
This was a complete transformation from start to finish.
We stripped the kitchen and dining room back to brick, removed the ceilings and opened up the two rooms by removing an original wall and installing a structural support beam.
As often happens with older properties, we uncovered a few surprises along the way, including rotten floorboards, deteriorating lintels and roof leaks. Each challenge was addressed as part of bringing the renovation together.
The new kitchen introduced contemporary concrete-effect and wood-effect cabinetry, complemented by warm copper accents and compact laminate worktops. The bathroom also received a dramatic makeover, with all fixtures removed, additional height created by removing a false ceiling and a beautiful modern finish throughout.
We coordinated the structural work, plumbing, electrics, joinery, tiling and decoration, creating two stunning spaces that complement the character of this traditional cottage.
